Job summary

Aramark UK is hiring a Food Service Assistant to join the Dounreay catering team. The role involves supporting daily catering operations, serving customers, and maintaining food safety standards in a busy environment.

You will work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday with variable shifts, at Dounreay. The position offers growth and training opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous catering, hospitality or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
• Positive attitude with a passion for excellent customer service.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages professionally and cheerfully.
• Assist with basic food preparation and presentation.
• Operate tills and handle transactions accurately.
• Replenish counters and service areas during shifts.

• Assist with washing up and general housekeeping duties.

Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Food Service Assistant to join our team at Dounreay, KW14 7TZ. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join a busy catering team, supporting the delivery of high-quality food services within a unique and secure working environment.

The Role

As a Food Service Assistant, you will support the daily catering operation by assisting with food preparation, serving customers and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive an excellent dining experience while working as part of a friendly and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner
• Assisting with basic food preparation and presentation
• Operating tills and processing customer transactions accurately
• Replenishing food counters and service areas throughout service periods
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within kitchen and dining areas
• Assisting with washing up and general housekeeping duties
• Following all food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality or customer service is desirable but not essential
• A positive attitude with a passion for excellent customer service
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices is advantageous
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
