Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for a Food Production Operative in the Crawley area. You will support the accurate preparation and timely dispatch of airline catering products and equipment, ensuring standards are met.

Expect shift work including days and nights in a fast-paced logistics setting, with training provided and meals on shift. Role involves working across Dishwash, Production, Pick & Pack and Hot Kitchen areas, with heavy lifting and exposure to meat/alcohol products.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of catering experience preferred.
• Strong team player with effective communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct stock rotation to preserve quality and compliance.
• Track and report food waste levels.
• Record and report damaged items such as crockery or glassware.
• Work collaboratively to achieve daily production goals.
• Dispose of waste safely using designated equipment.
• Operate industrial wash machinery in accordance with training.
• Monitor wash cycles and temperatures to ensure compliance.
• Check cleaned items to confirm they meet hygiene and safety standards.
• Prepare airline catering items according to company and airline specifications.
• Distribute products efficiently to relevant departments.
• Assemble and load catering carts and trolleys based on passenger numbers.
• Conduct quality checks prior to packing.
• Pack carts accurately according to flight requirements.
• Complete final security and compliance checks in line with procedures.
• Preparing food trays and airline meal sets.
• Conducting temperature and quality assurance checks.
• Receiving, unpacking, and organising stock.
• Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety protocols.
• Working in a cold environment.
• Heavy lifting (up to 25kg).
• Working with all types of meat and alcohol products.

Pay Rate Days #removed#): £12.99 per hour

Pay Rate Nights #removed#): £14.28 per hour Nights

Working Pattern: 4 days on / 2 days off

Available Shift Patterns:

• Dish Wash Area - 19:00 - 05:00
• Production Area - 06:00 - 14:30
• Hot Kitchen - 06:00 - 15:30
• Hot Kitchen - 14:00 - 22:00

The Role - Food Production Operative

As a member of the operations team, you will support the accurate preparation and timely dispatch of airline catering products and equipment, ensuring all customer and operational standards at Gatwick are consistently met. This position provides the opportunity to be part of a fast-moving logistics distribution and supply chain industry within the aviation catering sector.

Please note that all working areas may involve working with all types of meat and alcohol products.

Key Responsibilities
