Job summary

Sofitel London St James is seeking a Food and Beverage Floor Supervisor to lead breakfast service and oversee the day-to-day operations of our luxury hotel's food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service and safety compliance.

You will manage staff rotas, coach teams, monitor costs, and drive quality and profitability while maintaining the brand's playfully elegant standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience within a Food & Beverage environment, preferably in a luxury hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards, with relevant certifications being advantageous (e.g., Food Safety Level 2 or 3).
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and maintain high service standards.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills, including experience with rota management, payroll systems, stock control, and budget awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive work environment and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
  • Directly supervise breakfast service staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and support personnel.
  • Ensure that breakfast offerings are varied, high-quality, and align with the establishment's brand standards.
  • Monitor food trends and guest feedback to continuously improve and update breakfast menu offerings.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage outlets.
  • Address any issues or concerns related to food safety or sanitation.
  • Assist in budget planning and cost control measures.
  • Monitor expenses and revenue, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability.
