Job summary

Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre is seeking a proactive Food & Beverage Assistant to deliver warm, professional service across restaurant, bar, breakfast and events. You will interact with guests, assist with orders, maintain impeccable standards and contribute to upselling opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage, restaurant, hotel or bar environment.
• Previous bar experience is highly desirable.
• A friendly, confident and professional approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent guest experiences.
• The ability to stay calm, organised and focused in a busy environment.
• Flexibility to work across different Food & Beverage areas and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and deliver friendly, attentive and professional service.
• Take food and drink orders accurately and confidently.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages to a consistently high standard.
• Support restaurant, bar, breakfast and event service as required.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service throughout the operation.
• Make recommendations and upsell to enhance the guest experience.
• Work closely with the wider Food & Beverage and hotel teams to ensure smooth service.
• Set up, maintain and clear restaurant, bar and event areas.
• Follow hotel procedures and maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

If you’re passionate about hospitality, enjoy working with people and have experience in a busy Food & Beverage or bar environment, you’ll feel right at home at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre.

We’re a busy 4-star hotel with a vibrant Food & Beverage operation, including our restaurant, bar and events spaces. We’re now looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant to join our team and help create memorable experiences for every guest.

What You’ll Do

Food & Beverage Service

• Welcome guests warmly and deliver friendly, attentive and professional service
• Take food and drink orders accurately and confidently
• Prepare and serve food and beverages to a consistently high standard
• Support restaurant, bar, breakfast and event service as required
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service throughout the operation
• Make recommendations and identify opportunities to upsell and enhance the guest experience

Guest Experience

• Ensure every guest feels looked after from arrival through to departure
• Answer questions about our food and drinks offering confidently
• Respond positively and professionally to guest requests
• Resolve any issues quickly and appropriately, escalating where necessary

Teamwork & Operations

• Work closely with the wider Food & Beverage and hotel teams to ensure smooth service
• Set up, maintain and clear restaurant, bar and event areas
• Support colleagues during busy periods and events
• Follow hotel procedures and maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness
