Food and Beverage Manager

We are on the search for a passionate, dynamic and charismatic individual to join us at Motley as Food & Beverage Manager / Venue General Manager.

MOTLEY

Eat, drink and hang out at MOTLEY, a melting pot for locals and hotel guests alike. From lunch till late, the menu is filled to the brim with uncomplicated, kind to the environment and good for the soul dishes that are low-mileage, ingredient-led, homely, local and seasonal. There is a fantastic selection of draft beers from local breweries on tap, including our very own Motley Lager, as well as a superb choice of spritzers, wines and cocktails.

As well as being a destination for locals and visitors to the city, we’re also the social hub of YOTEL Manchester Deansgate, serving as a space for our hotel guests to work, meet, drink and socialise.

About the role

As our Food & Beverage Manager, you will play an instrumental part in the delivery of the venue concept for MOTLEY. This will be done by working with the General Manager and YOTEL London HQ in the creation of menus, ensuring consistency & quality of the food and service being offered to our guests, as well as creating opportunities to activate the venue to attract outside guests.

Reporting to the hotel General Manager, the Food & Beverage Manager will serve as a key member of the hotel senior management team.

More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • The role will be responsible for the smooth running of Food & Beverage on a day-to-day basis.
  • To direct all activities of Food & Beverage to ensure quality, efficiency in service whilst driving volume and sales in all areas of responsibility.
  • Support the coaching and development of the Food & Beverage team to ensure they are confident, motivated and empowered when interacting with our guests.
  • Collaborate with the hotel management team to drive innovation and continued development of the guest journey.

As well as the above-mentioned tasks, the Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for ensuring all food safety and health & safety requirements are met.

The skills we are looking for are:

  • Experience crafting and executing events and creative experiences in a food & beverage environment.
  • Experience managing a busy multi-faceted venue including the ability to lead a large and diverse team.
  • Confident in both front and back of house – this role requires someone everywhere all the time.
  • Strong drinks knowledge with a focus on cocktails.
  • Numerate and analytical, be able to establish credibility and communicate a message. In addition, the successful individual will be able to withstand pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and practical application of how to ensure drinks and food profitability targets are hit.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills by using their outgoing personality to interact with guests, employees, HQ and others.
