A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PALM COURT MANAGER AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL & SPA MGALLERY

What you'll be doing...

As a Palm Court Manager, reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of the Palm Court operation, including the Bar, ensuring excellence and consistency in all aspects, from the bar theatre to food delivery.

· Conduct the entire Palm Court operation and proactively anticipate guest needs.

· Play a key role within the team as the face of Food and Beverage, nurturing strong relationships for successful management.

· Oversee all service and preparation areas, ensuring daily completion of opening and closing checklists.

· Drive a culture of continuous improvement, setting clear objectives to elevate service, product quality, and team performance.

· Maintain a sharp focus on cost control and operational efficiency.

· Collaborate with the Bar Manager on stock control and back-office systems like Symphony and MICRO, ensuring accurate weekly reporting and variance management.

· Keep allergen information up to date and ensure weekly spec tests are performed.

· Support the Bar Manager in creating a magical experience through beverage presentation and service.

· Ensure the department is well-equipped through cost management, stock monitoring, and rota management.

· Follow AA and LQA standards in guest interactions both in person and via phone.

· Responsible for recruiting and retaining the Palm Court team, developing future talent.

· Ensure effective handovers of daily events to the Food and Beverage team.

· Maximize revenue through upselling all Food and Beverage offerings.

· Manage reservations efficiently, logging all covers and charging for no-shows.

· Conduct pre-arrival calls for large parties and resolve any complaints proactively.

· Be the front and center at every event in the Palm Court, commanding the room.
