Job summary

Skillnet in Bridgend, United Kingdom, is offering an automotive technician apprenticeship that provides hands-on training with the latest diagnostic equipment to build the skills required for the evolving car industry.

You will learn vehicle maintenance, observe and assist technicians, and ensure components and systems are secure and functioning properly. On completion you attainment a Level 2 qualification with potential progression to Level 3, leading to a full-time automotive career.

• A keen interest in vehicles, the learner must be hard working and motivated with an interest to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn vehicle maintenance and observe/assist technicians.
• Car technicians will be expected to see whether components and systems are secure and working properly.
• Learn to service vehicles following manufacturer guidelines and maintenance practices.

Job description

An exciting opportunity for the Apprentices to be trained using the latest diagnostic equipment to provide them with the relevant skills to react to the ever-changing technological developments within the car industry. Day to day tasks will always vary but will normally include:

• Vehicle Maintenance
• Observing and assisting technicians

Car technicians will be expected to see whether components and systems are secure and working properly.

The Car Technicians jobs fall into three categories:

• Servicing working to manufacturer servicing guidelines to ensure vehicle running at optimum performance
• Maintenance replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail
• Repair diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem

On completion of this course you will receive a Level 2 qualification with the possibility of progressing to a Level 3 course
