Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is recruiting two Flying Start Parenting Workers to join the Early Years team. Based in Taibach, you'll deliver parenting support to families within designated areas, promote positive parenting, and strengthen family relationships through group programmes and targeted home visits.

Working under the Flying Start Parenting Lead, you will manage caseloads, maintain robust records and collaborate with a multi-agency team to provide tailored interventions and build parental

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• A sound understanding of child development.
• Experience of, or a strong interest in, supporting parents and young children.
• A person-centred approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, empathetic and non-judgemental manner.
• An understanding of the challenges facing families in today's climate.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• A willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Delivering one-to-one support within family homes and community settings
• Planning, facilitating and delivering parenting programmes and family support groups
• Working collaboratively with professionals from a range of agencies
• Maintaining accurate, timely and robust records
• Supporting families with multiple complex needs
• Working independently and undertaking lone-working responsibilities.
