Job summary

Hewett Recruitment is seeking a Yard Operative / FLT Driver for a busy depot in Stourport-on-Severn. The role combines outdoor yard work with forklift operations and light administrative duties, offering variety and hands-on experience.

You will operate a Counterbalance FLT, load and move drums, boxes and IBCs, maintain stock records, and ensure health and safety compliance. Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, this is a temporary ongoing role with full training on site and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence is essential.
• Experience in waste management, recycling, warehousing would be advantageous.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to health and safety.
• Basic IT skills to update stock records and systems.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
• Flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
• Loading, unloading and moving drums, boxes, IBCs and other packaged materials.
• Assist with the receipt, sorting and storage of incoming materials.
• Prepare materials for recycling and disposal in line with site procedures.
• Support the processing and handling of waste and recyclable products.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update internal systems.
• Work in line with environmental, safety and licensing regulations.
• Keep the yard organised, safe and operational at all times.

£13.50 per hour
8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Counterbalance FLT Driver looking for a varied, hands-on role? Do you enjoy working outdoors and being part of a busy operation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a well-established waste management and recycling facility in Stourport.

The Role

As a Yard Operative / FLT Driver, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the depot, supporting the handling, sorting and movement of both packaged and bulk waste materials. The position has a strong focus on forklift truck operations, ensuring materials are safely processed, stored and prepared for onward recycling or disposal.

This is a varied role that combines physical outdoor work with some administrative duties, helping to ensure the smooth flow of incoming and outgoing materials.

Key Responsibilities
