Job summary

OurHouse in London is seeking a Floor Team Member to warmly welcome families, coordinate with the floor team, and maintain high service standards. You will take orders, guide guests with menu knowledge, ensure hygiene and safety, and support setup and close-down across shifts, delivering a calm, friendly dining experience for every family.

No prior front-of-house is required, as we hire for personality and train the rest.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and families with warmth and build familiarity with regulars.
• Anticipate needs and assist with refills, high chairs, or attention for children.
• Take orders confidently and deliver food and drinks to standard.
• Maintain menu knowledge, including ingredients and allergens.
• Support floor setup/close-down and handle member queries, escalating when needed.
• Uphold high standards of hygiene, presentation and safety throughout shifts.
• Follow health, safety and food hygiene procedures at all times.

You'll work closely with the floor team and Supervisor to keep service flowing and standards high, all while helping every family feel genuinely looked after.

What You'll Do

• Welcome members and their families with warmth, and build familiarity with regulars - remembering names, preferences, and the little details
• Anticipate needs before they're asked - a refill, a high chair, a moment of attention for a child
• Take orders confidently and deliver food and drinks accurately, following OurHouse service standards
• Maintain strong menu knowledge, including ingredients and allergens, to guide and advise members
• Support set-up and close-down of the floor, and handle member queries with care, escalating where needed
• Uphold high standards of presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout every shift
• Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures at all times

What We're Looking For

• A natural warmth with people - comfortable with everyone from toddlers to grandparents
• Great attention to detail and a calm, adaptable approach when things get busy
• A genuine team player who looks out for colleagues as much as members
• Previous front-of-house or hospitality experience is helpful but not essential - we hire for personality and teach the skills
• Awareness of food allergens and basic food hygiene, or willingness to complete training before starting
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
