Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Flood Modeller to join a Bristol-based water team, working on 1D/2D hydraulic modelling and flood risk projects.

The role uses Flood Modeller, TUFLOW and InfoWorks ICM, with preparation of reports and support for UK projects. Hybrid working is offered with a strong focus on technical development.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering or related degree and have experience in flood risk modelling with a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography or related discipline.
• Experience in flood risk, hydraulic modelling or drainage.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Flood Modeller to join their growing water team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a Flood Risk Engineer or Hydraulic Modeller looking to develop their technical career within a busy consultancy environment.

The Role

• Undertake 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software such as Flood Modeller and TUFLOW.
• Complete flood risk assessments, hydraulic assessments and drainage studies.
• Analyse hydrological and hydraulic data and interpret modelling results.
• Prepare technical reports and flood risk documentation.
• Support flood risk, drainage and water management projects across the UK.
• Work closely with engineers, planners and other technical specialists.

The Candidate

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in flood risk, hydraulic modelling or drainage.
• Experience with Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or similar software.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
• Ideally working towards or holding a relevant professional qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.
