Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is recruiting for a Flood Modeller in Bristol, offering hybrid working and a strong technical development path within a growing consultancy. The role involves hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller and TUFLOW, plus flood risk and drainage assessments across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering/Hydrology/Geography background, experience in flood risk modelling, and solid report-writing skills, with a driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography or related discipline.
• Experience in flood risk, hydraulic modelling or drainage.
• Experience with Flood Modeller, TUFLOw, InfoWorks ICM or similar software.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
• Preferably working towards or holding a relevant professional qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller and TUFLOW.
• Complete flood risk and drainage studies and assessments.
• Analyse hydrological data and interpret modelling results.
• Prepare technical reports and flood risk documentation.

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Flood Modeller to join their growing water team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a Flood Risk Engineer or Hydraulic Modeller looking to develop their technical career within a busy consultancy environment.

The Role:

• Undertake 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software such as Flood Modeller and TUFLOW.
• Complete flood risk assessments, hydraulic assessments and drainage studies.
• Analyse hydrological and hydraulic data and interpret modelling results.
• Prepare technical reports and flood risk documentation.
• Support flood risk, drainage and water management projects across the UK.
• Work closely with engineers, planners and other technical specialists.

The Candidate:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in flood risk, hydraulic modelling or drainage.
• Experience with Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or similar software.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
