Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety-critical flight control software for UAV/aircraft. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to translate requirements into robust control laws, perform verification via bespoke simulations and conduct real-world flight tests at our Bedfordshire facility.

Qualifications

Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink to develop algorithms and control laws.
Hands-on experience designing and commissioning control systems.
Knowledge of safety-critical software standards (DO-178, ED-20x).
Existing SC Clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and test safety-critical flight control software for aircraft.
Contribute to requirements and deploy software to target hardware.
Conduct real-world flight testing at our Bedfordshire test facility.
Prepare reports and customer-facing presentations of testing results.
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to improve processes and methods.
