Job summary

Action for Carers is recruiting Youth Sessional Workers to support the Young Carers Engage & Connect Team. You will help plan, deliver and facilitate activities for young carers aged 5 to 16, leading games and contributing ideas during planning.

Sessions occur across evenings, weekends and school holidays, with a flexible, zero-hours workload. The role requires enthusiasm for working with children and young people, reliability and the ability to travel to venues across Surrey.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting children and young people
• Flexibility to work across evenings, weekends and school holidays
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people
• Willingness to travel to venues across Surrey
• Satisfactory references, right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS check will be required

Responsibilities

• Support Event Leads in planning, delivering and facilitating activities
• Lead games, icebreakers and club sessions
• Contribute ideas during planning and participate in session evaluation to improve what we offer
• Sessions run across evenings, weekends and school holidays; flexibility is essential
