Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils near Rushden and throughout North Northamptonshire. You will work across Early Years and Key Stages 1/2, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping children develop literacy, numeracy, and confidence.

Roles include day-to-day cover or fixed-term placements across multiple primary schools. A DBS is preferred; strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in educational or childcare settings.
• GCSE English and Maths (preferred).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with resources, activities, and a positive learning environment.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce literacy, numeracy, and core curriculum tasks.
• Help children build confidence, focus, and social skills.
• Assist pupils with SEND by tailoring learning activities to individual needs.
• Support classroom management and supervise during breaks, lunchtimes, and trips.
