Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Corby and the surrounding North Northamptonshire area. Roles include day-to-day cover or fixed-term placements within a friendly network of primary schools and academies.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, helping with literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum while supporting SEND pupils and promoting positive learning behaviours across diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in educational/childcare settings.
• Warm, patient and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent preferred.
• Adaptable and proactive attitude to enter different primary classrooms with confidence.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to class teachers in preparing resources, managing activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• 1:1 or small groups support to reinforce literacy, numeracy and core curriculum tasks.
• Help children build confidence, focus and social skills with gentle guidance.
• Assist pupils with SEND by tailoring activities to individual learning needs.
• Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supervise breaks, lunchtimes and school trips as needed.
