Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Early Years, KS1 and KS2 near Corby and North Northamptonshire. Roles include day-to-day cover or longer-term placements with schools committed to safeguarding and high standards.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce literacy and numeracy, support SEND pupils, and help maintain a positive learning environment while following school policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in educational, childcare, nursery, or community settings.
• Warm, patient and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• GCSE English and Maths at a C/4 or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to class teachers in preparing resources and managing classroom activities.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups to reinforce literacy, numeracy and core curriculum tasks.
• Help children build confidence, focus and social skills with gentle guidance.
• Assist pupils with SEND by tailoring activities to individual learning styles.
• Support classroom management and positive behaviour according to school policies.
• Supervise during break times, lunchtimes and school trips as needed.
