Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is seeking newly qualified Teaching Assistants to support a specialist school in Wolverhampton. This role offers flexible hours to fit around studies and commitments, with ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

You will work with experienced teachers, providing 1:1 and small group support to students with diverse needs, including ASC, ADHD, PMLD, SEMH, and sensory difficulties.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Patient, caring and adaptable; good team worker.
• Available for flexible work throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis.
• Delivering small group interventions.
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
• Supporting students with communication, social and emotional development.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
