Smile Education is recruiting multiple Teaching Assistants to support a specialist primary SEND school based in Lichfield. Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience with children with additional needs is desirable.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
• Provide a minimum of two years’ employment and/or education references.
• At least one reference must comment on experience with children or young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.

Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged pupils with a range of SEND needs.
• Provide support both in and outside of the classroom.
• Assist teachers with engaging, personalised and inclusive learning activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children with communication, social, emotional and learning needs.
• Promote independence, confidence and personal development.
• Help create a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils with their individual learning and development goals.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.
