Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support schools in Rushden and surrounding areas on a supply basis. You will provide 1:1 or small-group support, assist with learning, and help pupils manage behaviours in line with EHCP plans.

The role offers flexible supply work across local SEN and education settings with competitive pay and opportunities to develop CPD. Prior experience in care or youth work is also welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is preferred.
• Positive, proactive approach to support pupils.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Confidence in supporting behaviour and additional needs.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with additional needs
• Support learning and engagement inside and outside of the classroom
• Help pupils manage behaviour and emotions
• Follow individual support plans and EHCP strategies
• Support pupils with communication and social development
• Work closely with teachers and wider school staff
• Provide a calm, consistent and positive presence for pupils
