Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced Secondary Teaching Assistants to support schools in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Roles range from ad hoc days to block bookings, with opportunities for longer-term placements.

You'll work with SEN students and support KS3/KS4, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance while applying effective behaviour management to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Experience supporting students with SEN or additional needs.
• Confident and effective behaviour management skills.
• Calm, patient and consistent when dealing with challenging behaviour.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar education-based role.

Responsibilities

• Support students across KS3 and KS4 within the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support students with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Help pupils access and engage with their learning.
• Apply behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive environment.
• Support emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Work with teachers and SEN teams to provide consistent support.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
