Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Cambridge and surrounding areas. Roles range from ad hoc daily supply to block bookings, with opportunities to develop into longer-term positions.

Candidates should be comfortable working with secondary-aged students and SEN needs, using effective behaviour management to maintain a positive learning environment. Travel to local schools is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with secondary-aged pupils
• Experience supporting students with SEN or additional needs
• Confident and effective behaviour management skills
• Calm, patient and consistent with challenging behaviour
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar education role
• Able to provide classroom and individual pupil support
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people while maintaining boundaries
• Proactive, adaptable and reliable across different schools

Responsibilities

• Support students across KS3 and KS4 in the classroom
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
• Assist students with SEN and additional learning needs
• Help pupils engage with learning and apply strategies
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to ensure consistency
