Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to cover schools across Retford, ensuring premises are safe, clean, secure and well-maintained. Hours vary by assignment and roles can be temporary, long-term or short-term.

Pay ranges from £14.24 to £15 per hour (PAYE). We provide safeguarding training, ongoing support from a local consultant, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance or site management is required.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs, maintenance and security tasks.
• Good communication and organisational skills essential.
• Reliability and a proactive attitude valued.
• Commitment to safeguarding and school safety.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate preferred/obtainable with our help.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation related to facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure school premises are safe, clean, secure and well-maintained.
• Carry out basic repairs, maintenance and security tasks as required.
• Support safeguarding and safety policies in site management.
