Job summary

PK Education is seeking reliable Bank Caretakers to support school sites across Chesterfield in the East Midlands. This flexible, as-needed role fits around other commitments and helps ensure safe, well-maintained educational environments.

Responsibilities include inspections, basic maintenance, cleaning, opening/closing premises, reporting issues, and assisting with events. DBS check required or willingness to obtain one; competitive hourly rates offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, facilities, or site support preferred but not essential.
• Ability to carry out basic maintenance and practical tasks safely and effectively.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine site inspections to ensure premises are safe, secure and well-maintained.
• Undertake basic maintenance and repair tasks across school buildings and grounds.
• Ensure facilities are clean, tidy and ready for daily use.
• Open and secure school premises as required.
• Monitor and report maintenance issues, hazards or security concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with room setups, furniture movement and event preparation.
• Maintain external areas including pathways, entrances and outdoor spaces.
• Follow health and safety procedures and site-specific regulations.
