Job summary

PK Education is seeking reliable School Caretakers to join our bank team for short- and long-term cover across primary and secondary schools in Mansfield. The role suits those with maintenance or facilities experience who want flexible work.

You will help keep school sites safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors, with duties including basic repairs and routine site checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities, or caretaker roles is desirable.
• Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine site inspections to ensure the school remains safe and well-maintained.
• Complete basic maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks across buildings and grounds.
• Open and lock school premises as required.
• Ensure classrooms, halls, and shared areas are clean and ready for daily use.
• Set up rooms and move furniture for events and activities.
• Monitor heating, lighting, alarms and other site systems.
