Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older people. You will work on an as-needed basis, helping residents live safely and with dignity while enjoying flexible hours that fit around other commitments.

You will be caring, reliable and adaptable, ready to work as part of a team. Applicants should aim for SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare and be prepared for PVG checks and SSSC registration.

Qualifications

• Caring, reliable and adaptable with a genuine commitment to supporting older people.
• Willingness to work toward SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• Must be a PVG Scheme member and registered with the SSSC.
• Legal entitlement to work in the UK (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration.
• Promote independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice.
