Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older residents, helping them live safely and with dignity.

Working on an as-needed basis, you will join a compassionate team, carry out daily living tasks, support nutrition and hydration, and help residents participate in activities while building respectful relationships with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Caring, reliable and adaptable with a commitment to supporting older people.
• SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• Membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with SSSC.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration.
• Promote independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice.
