Job summary

CrossReach in Scotland is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older people, on an as-needed basis. You’ll help residents live safely and with dignity, in a team that values compassion, respect and teamwork.

You will be caring, reliable and adaptable, with a willingness to learn. You may hold, or work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare; PVG Scheme membership and registration with SSSC are required.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience welcome but not essential.
• Willing to work towards SVQ Level 3.
• Requires PVG Scheme membership and registration with SSSC.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assist with meals and promote good nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities.
• Promote independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice.
