Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older people. This flexible, as-needed role helps residents live safely, comfortably and with dignity while fitting around your commitments.

You will assist with personal care, meals and daily living activities, promote nutrition and hydration, and help residents participate in activities and social opportunities. PVG and SSSC registration are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• You hold or are working toward SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration are required.
• Care experience is welcome but not essential; values and willingness to learn are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration
• Promote independence, choice and wellbeing
• Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
• Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support
