Job summary

Connex Education is seeking Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Littleover, Normanton, Sunny Hill, Peartree and the wider DE23 area. Immediate and ongoing opportunities are available with flexible day-to-day supply, short-term, and long-term placements across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

You will work alongside class teachers to support pupils, encourage engagement and help create a positive learning environment, with weekly PAYE pay and CPD training provided.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.
• Confidence supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
• A reliable, flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and daily classroom routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Help pupils access learning and make progress.
• Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.
