Job summary

Locums First is looking for Locum Healthcare Assistants in Port Isaac. This opportunity provides flexible clinical support across local primary care services, with sessions suited to HCAs confident in routine clinical tasks and strong patient-facing skills.

You will perform routine observations (BP, pulse, temperature), assist in treatment room duties, conduct ECGs and blood pressure checks, and contribute to smooth clinic operations. Experience in primary care and enhanced DBS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable.
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Adaptability across different primary care environments.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting treatment room procedures under clinical supervision
• Conducting ECGs and basic health checks
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
• Providing lifestyle advice and basic patient education
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed
