Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford is seeking a Phlebotomist (Band 2–3 development post) to join the pathology team. The role is 17.5 hours per week on a variable roster across 7 days, with training provided and no fixed days.

You will collect blood samples from inpatients, outpatients and community patients, supporting wards and clinics. A reliable car is preferred for site visits at community locations.

Qualifications

• Venepuncture certificate or training.
• Knowledge of venipuncture techniques and safety policies.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from wards, clinics and GP surgeries as needed.
• Perform venepuncture techniques across clinical settings with minimal supervision.
• Work across a 17.5 hour per week rota, seven days a week with shifts planned in advance.
• Support the pathology team to provide an efficient, high‑quality blood sampling service.
