Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a Library Assistant to join the library network team delivering high quality, customer focused library and learning services across Aberdeen. The role is based at Mastrick Library with a fixed rota and part-time hours.

The post holder will handle movement of books, cash handling, outreach activities, and use of new technologies, while working independently and with colleagues to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• 4 National 5 passes including English and Mathematics.
• PVG membership for regulated work with children and/or protected adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality library and learning services across Aberdeen.
• Move books and other resources between shelves; cash handling.
• Promote services and deliver outreach activities to a range of clients.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet service needs and cover at Aberdeen City Libraries as required.
