Job summary

Cpl Recruitment is recruiting Library Assistants for public sector roles in Northern Ireland, notably Belfast Central and Belfast City Area. Positions are temporary with potential extension, offering both part-time and full-time hours.

Responsibilities include delivering library services, assisting with enquiries, shelving, circulation, and promoting activities for diverse community groups, while upholding standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Evidence of face-to-face service to the public.
• Experience using ICT to access and use information.
• Ability to work in a team and deliver services.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with using library services and resources.
• Register clients and handle enquiries using print and online resources.
• Support promotional activities and events for learners and the community.
• Shelve, tidy and maintain books and resources; manage circulation procedures.
• Maintain records and statistics; ensure high service standards.
• Respond to comments and complaints following policy guidelines.
