Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Peckham is seeking a Bank Nursery Practitioner to support children and staff on a flexible, casual basis. You’ll join a warm, inclusive team focused on play, learning and safety across the nursery.

Pay:

£12.71 - £14.94 per Hour based on experience. Plus an additional 13.54% accrued holiday pay entitlement.

Hours:

Flexible zero hours contract. Whether you're looking for occasional shifts or more regular work, opportunities are available Monday-Friday between 8am-6pm depending on nursery needs.

Where You'll Be Working

Our Peckham Nursery is on Sternhall Lane, directly off Peckham High Street only 5 minutes from the train station, it is easily accessible by foot, rail, or car. We are fortunate to have a large nursery for our children with plenty of space to explore inside, and we regularly go to a nearby park to explore the woodland and let off steam. At The Old Station Nursery Peckham, we are a fun and happy team here at our nursery in Peckham, with many long-serving staff members and strong connections with our families and the local community. What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Bank Nursery Team, you'll support children and colleagues across the nursery as and when needed - whether that’s covering holidays, supporting during busy periods, or helping provide consistency for children when teams need extra support. No two days are ever quite the same - and that's part of the joy. One moment you could be building dens outdoors and the next you'll be helping bring story time to life. You'll support children through play, creativity, curiosity, and connection while helping create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel happy, valued, and confident to explore.

What We're Looking For

Experience working in a childcare or Early Years setting, a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential. We're looking for people with big hearts, curious minds, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development.
