Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a Non Clinical Claims Lead & Office Manager to manage a defined caseload of civil liability claims (non-clinical) and oversee office operations within the Legal Services / Claims team.

Your role includes conducting pre-action investigations under the Protocol, coordinating with clinical and non-clinical staff for evidence, reporting findings to the Head of Claims & Insurance, and supporting staff development within a small, friendly team.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent NHS / legal experience required.
• Advanced keyboard skills required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Minute taking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle sensitive information and data in line with Trust policy, GDPR and data protection acts.
• Supervise the band 4 on a day-to-day basis and conduct annual development reviews.
• Support the lead coordinator for police statements relating to criminal matters.
• Act as office manager: manage staff, process invoices and maintain health rosters for the team.
