Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Non Clinical Claims Lead and Office Manager to manage a defined caseload of civil liability (non-clinical) claims. You will undertake pre-action investigations and gather evidence through statements, liaise with staff to build a reasoned liability opinion, and prepare briefing packs for the Trust's legal service team.

Qualifications

• Experience handling civil liability claims (non-clinical).
• Ability to gather evidence and statements.
• Strong communication with clinical/non-clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Undertake pre-action investigations per the Pre-Action Protocol and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Communicate with staff to obtain evidence in the form of statements.
• Perform preliminary review of each claim to form a liability opinion.
• Report findings to the Trust legal service facilitator and Head of claims & insurance via a briefing pack.
