Job summary

Compass Community Limited is seeking a Children's Support Worker – Flexible Hours to join our team. This role operates on a zero hours contract, offering you the flexibility to choose shifts that fit your life while supporting our children's homes and specialist schools.

You'll work across Residential and Education services in the Canvey Island area, helping children feel safe, valued and capable of achieving their potential. Training and safeguarding are core priorities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships quickly.
• A flexible approach and willingness to work across different services and locations.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in residential childcare, education, youth work, social care or health care is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
• Encouraging participation in education, activities and daily routines.
• Providing a safe, caring and nurturing environment.
• Supporting positive behaviour using therapeutic approaches.
• Assisting with learning and classroom activities within our specialist schools.
• Helping children develop life skills and achieve their individual goals.
• Working alongside experienced Residential, Education and Therapeutic teams.
• Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the highest standards of care at all times.
