Job summary

Compass Community is seeking a Children's Support Worker with flexible hours to join our residential homes and specialist schools across the region. This zero hours contract lets you choose shifts that fit your life while making a real difference to children and young people.

You will build trusting relationships, support emotional wellbeing, encourage participation in education and daily activities, and help create a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and active listening with children and families.
• Ability to adapt to different settings and shift patterns.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Work across Residential and Education services to provide support where needed.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Support emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
• Encourage participation in education, activities and routines.
• Provide a safe, caring, nurturing environment.
• Support positive behaviour using therapeutic approaches.
• Assist with learning and classroom activities in specialist schools.
• Travel to Swaffham, Dowham Market and Thetford as required.
