Job summary

Compass Community is seeking a Children’s Support Worker to provide flexible, compassionate care across our residential homes and specialist schools. You will help children develop life skills, support education and promote wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

This role offers zero hours flexibility, with training and ongoing opportunities to grow within compassionate care teams across multiple settings and locations in England.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships quickly.
• Flexible approach and willingness to work across different services and locations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Support emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
• Encourage participation in education, activities and daily routines.
• Provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment.
• Support positive behaviour using therapeutic approaches.
• Assist with learning and classroom activities within our specialist schools.
• Help children develop life skills and achieve their individual goals.
• Work alongside experienced Residential, Education and Therapeutic teams.
• Promote safeguarding and ensure the highest standards of care at all times.
• Travel to Shepherdswell and Dover as required.
