Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking experienced Cover Supervisors, ECTs and Qualified Teachers for flexible day-to-day and longer-term opportunities across Weston-super-Mare from September 2026.

Roles include supervising secondary classes when the regular teacher is absent, following pre-prepared lesson plans, and maintaining a positive learning environment. Competitive pay rates of £120-£150 per day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-age students.
• Ability to follow pre-prepared lesson plans.
• Experience in UK education setting.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervising secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and clearly communicating instructions.
• Managing classroom behaviour calmly, fairly and consistently.
• Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
• Monitoring student engagement and ensuring work is completed.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Adapting to different subjects, year groups and school environments.
• Communicating effectively with teaching staff and school leaders.
• Following safeguarding and school policies.
