Job summary

Tradewind Education in Bradford is seeking experienced Cover Supervisors for flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term assignments across our partnership schools.

You will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage behaviour, support students’ learning, and provide feedback to staff. This role offers flexible hours and ongoing support from our education consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to confidently supervise groups of secondary-aged students.
• Calm, professional approach and positive attitude.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions.
• Flexibility and reliability.
• Understanding of safeguarding in an educational environment.
• Experience in roles like Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant is desirable.
• Graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students stay engaged.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Taking attendance and reporting concerns to staff.
• Ensuring students complete the work provided by teachers.
• Providing feedback to staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
• Following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
