Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support partner secondary schools in Barnsley. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared work, and help maintain a positive learning environment across day-to-day, short-term, and long-term assignments.

You will build relationships with students and staff, monitor progress, adapt to different subjects, and report concerns to teachers, providing reliable support in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes and delivering pre-prepared work.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Ensuring students complete the work set by their teacher.
• Supporting and encouraging students with their learning.
• Monitoring student progress and reporting any concerns.
• Working across a variety of secondary schools and year groups.
• Building positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Adapting to different classrooms, subjects and school environments.
