Job summary

Tradewind Education is recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team and work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Barnsley and the surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year. You will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, keeping students engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

No teaching qualification is required, but experience with young people and strong

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
• Strong classroom management and positive behavior support.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Keep students engaged, focused, and on task; maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support school staff and adapt to different classrooms and age groups.
