Monarch Education is seeking a Construction Tutor for a brand-new Alternative Provision in Wolverhampton. You will deliver practical, hands-on construction sessions to young people who have struggled in mainstream education, helping them build confidence, employability and practical skills.

The role supports small groups and focuses on safe, engaging learning in a vocational setting. Experience in construction and training is valued; DBS checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within the construction industry.
• Experience delivering construction-related training, tutoring, coaching, or teaching sessions.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate young people who may have additional needs or barriers to learning.
• Passion for vocational education and helping learners succeed.
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Teaching qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience working within Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH, or vocational education would be advantageous.

• Deliver engaging construction-based lessons and practical workshops.

• Develop students’ practical trade skills, confidence, and employability.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and abilities.
• Manage small groups of learners effectively.
• Promote health and safety at all times within practical sessions.
• Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
