Job summary

Compass Community is looking for a dedicated Children's Support Worker to join our flexible team across residential homes and specialist schools. The role operates on a zero hours contract, letting you pick shifts that fit around your life while making a real difference to children and young people.

You'll support emotional wellbeing, learning activities and daily routines, building trusting relationships and promoting safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Caring, resilient and enthusiastic about helping children.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable.
  • Willingness to work across different services and locations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
  • Encouraging participation in education, activities and daily routines.
  • Providing a safe, caring and nurturing environment.
  • Supporting positive behaviour using therapeutic approaches.
  • Assisting with learning and classroom activities within our specialist schools.
  • Helping children develop life skills and achieve their individual goals.
  • Working alongside experienced Residential, Education and Therapeutic teams.
  • Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the highest standards of care at all times.
