Job summary

St Elizabeth's Charity Shop in Saffron Walden is recruiting a Retail Manager on a flexible, casual basis. You will cover shifts as needed, support volunteers, drive sales and ensure a welcoming shop environment that reflects the charity's mission to help children, young people and adults with complex needs.

Experience in charity retail is welcome, but full training will be provided. Join a team dedicated to making a real impact in the local community.

Qualifications

• Attitude, confidence and willingness to get stuck in.
• Proactive, take initiative and make things happen.
• Flexible and adaptable to cover shifts at short notice, including weekends or busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the shop, including opening/closing, cash handling and stock management.
• Create a warm, welcoming environment for customers and volunteers.
• Help drive sales and achieve shop targets.
• Maintain high standards of merchandising, presentation and stock rotation.
• Support recruitment, training and motivation of volunteers.
• Provide leadership when stepping up in the Shop Manager's absence.
• Ensure charity policies, retail standards and health & safety requirements are followed.
• Make the most of donated stock to turn donations into vital funds.
