Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Uxbridge is seeking a Bank Nursery Practitioner to join a warm, supportive team. This flexible role fits around your life, with zero hours contracts offering varied shifts across mornings and afternoons.

You’ll support children throughout the day, covering holidays and busy periods, and help provide consistency for children. Training and DBS checks are provided, with opportunities to grow within a friendly organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare or Early Years setting.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification desirable but not essential.

Pay: £12.71 - £13.80 per Hour based on experience. Plus an additional 13.54% accrued holiday pay entitlement.

Hours:Flexible zero hours contract. Whether you’re looking for occasional shifts or more regular work, opportunities are available Monday–Friday between 8am–6pm depending on nursery needs.

Where You'll Be Working

Our nursery is beautifully situated in front of the River Colne, offering stunning views and a natural environment full of wildlife. The children love making the most of this unique setting—whether it’s spotting birds and animals on walks or observing nature through the windows with their binoculars. We’re also proud to welcome a mobile library that visits the nursery regularly, giving children the opportunity to exchange books and enjoy a wide variety of texts, nurturing a love for reading from an early age. For our preschool children, we offer Super StarSports sessions where they develop essential physical skills such as ball control, spatial awareness, and problem-solving through fun obstacle courses and structured activities using a range of equipment. We have three rooms in our nursery: the Baby Room (0–2 years), Toddler Room (2–3 years), and Preschool Room (3–5 years), each designed to support children at their specific stage of development.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working in a childcare or Early Years setting, aLevel 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.
