Job summary

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking an experienced Fleet Workshop Supervisor to lead a busy workshop team responsible for the maintenance of HGVs, light vehicles, plant, and trailers at Colwyn Bay. You will drive safety, quality, and performance while managing maintenance, inspections, repairs, servicing, and MOT preparation.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, proven leadership, and a commitment to improving workshop efficiency and frontline service delivery across the county.

Qualifications

• Level 3 HGV Repair & Maintenance qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in HGV/LGV maintenance and roadworthiness inspections.
• HGV Category C licence or willingness to obtain one.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop workshop teams.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and support staff.
• Manage maintenance, inspections, repairs, servicing, and MOT preparation.
• Ensure compliance with DVSA standards, Operator Licence requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.
• Drive workshop performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Support the delivery of essential frontline services across the county.
