Job summary

Grundon Waste Management Ltd is seeking a dynamic Fleet Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fleet Workshop based in Bishops Cleeve, with travel to Bristol and other depots as required. You will lead a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with safety standards.

Reporting into the Fleet Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining documentation, managing downtime, and optimising workforce productivity, while

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar environment.
• Hands-on technical expertise across hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and manage a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor.
• Own and improve fleet maintenance system (R2C) and LOLER inspection processes.
• Oversee vehicle documentation sign-off to ensure legal compliance.
• Manage vehicle availability to minimise downtime and keep fleet ready.
• Maintain the workshop to high safety, organisation and cleanliness standards.
• Strategically plan labour resources to optimise efficiency and output.
